Section 13
Duration of license
(1) According to Section 11; The period of the permit granted for providing water and sanitation services, construction, operation and management of projects or service systems or for public, institutional commercial and industrial use of water resources shall be twenty-five years at most.
(2) In subsection (1); Notwithstanding anything written, in case of service provider providing water service in bulk, tanker or bottled form, the period of license shall be two years.
(3) An organization that has received a permit in accordance with Section 11 may apply for renewal in the prescribed format along with the prescribed fee three months prior to the expiration of the permit period.
(4) If an application for renewal is submitted in accordance with sub-section (3), the organization that has received such a license shall renew the license at a time without extending it for five years.
(5) The license of the organization that does not renew the license as per sub-section (4) shall be automatically cancelled.
(6) Before the commencement of this Act, if a licensee has been granted a license for a period less than the period specified in sub-section (1), such licensee may apply to extend the period of the license at least thirty days before the expiry of the period specified in the license.
(7) If an application is received in accordance with sub-section (6), the designated authority shall, after examining the progress of the project, extend the period of the permit not to exceed five years, subject to sub-section (1).
